Leo MacDonald Oulds is one of the many animals trapped in the cage. Did the council think they could contain us that easy? A cage just makes us skate more, backfire dudes now we’re cooking on urethane.
Leo smashes skateboarding. The pictures are testimony to this. Nothing will fill my boots more then shooting pictures here. To roll bones over concrete and hear the sound of cold steel then the fire a few soul stealer’s, its a visit to urban heaven. Every breath at the cage is tainted with soot, fume and scally swagger. You feel like you’ve done a few rounds of beer garden chuffing and subdued all issues with cage rage.
The mesh of metal fence that surrounds. The sound of wheels, steel, stone and grit. The shoes dangle like tramp chandeliers. The cage is all right.
The Pump Cage or it’s official name of ‘Projekts Skatepark’ is near enough central to Manchester City. Surrounded by a 12 foot steel fence and protected from the heavens by a motorway bridge, it’s the perfect setting for a rad as you like skate park. Does the fence protects us from the people outside or does it protect the public from the skate rats inside. Hawkeye the parks adopted stray cat is the only one who knows.
The best thing about this is skateboarders like Leo, who have a full concrete park to shred chose to skate the unskateable. The corrugated metal fence that surrounds the park. The sound of rattle and roll fulfil only the most desperate of fears, the gnarl, its lurking at every corner.
The cage , the cage, take out your rage, feel your age. Roll down there, take the A6, watch out for dealers, needles and prozzy kicks. Convert the masses and line your pockets we’ve got the cage and our wooden street rockets. It’s not the street, its not better then that, its the cage where you coach the kids and their dad. It’s the cage act your age and skate like you should do. See you tomorrow. Don’t set me free, I’m happy to stay, just lock me and my skateboard in the cage under the Mancunian way.
City living never had it so good , right?
