Stockport fountains are a hive of skateboard activity. It’s also a hive of smashed glass, mislead youth and trouble. That’s none of my business. I like to skate, shoot photos and hopefully project something worthwhile, something that’s not a complete waste of time.

I think there’s a little skate scene here, and by scene I mean a counter culture. At the fountains there’s youth, OAP’s, boozers, and professional bladers on board. Its not a bust and that’s rad, you can skate all day and no one cares. You see I’m bigging up the fountains. The blocks are best even for the old 90’s dreamers like me. Skateboarding is alive in places like this.

D.I.Y Doozer has built some smart things in his spare time and on a sunny day when he’s not working you might find the fountains turned into a mini wooden skate park with a jump ramp, manny pad, wallie pyramid  and board slider all set up and free to skate. It’s that kind of scene. Doozers building attitude is what makes skateboarding great, do it yourself and share your creations. Absolute champion.

I guarantee when winter kicks in this place will still be a buzz. If your ever on board and in the area take a roll to the blocks. Just watch out for the glass, legal highs and the rats, the rats are bad.
