Skate vert or a cup of tea?

A week or two ago I got to skate the vert ramp at Beast with the routine shredders. Proper little session we have going on here. I took my camera and managed to roll a few shots off. Like the one of Scotty’s nose grind on Loz Brophy’s crutch and the one of a happy Reiss doing an invert whilst his pals are looking all stoked at the prospect of starring in a photograph with Reiss doing an invert.

Here’s a quick gallery put together for your viewing pleasure.

Shooting photographs of vert skateboarding is a challenge and a half. In fact more people should come and skate this ramp. It’s bloody marvellous, the vibe is good and these lot kill it.

If I stayed at home I could have had cup of tea and maybe watch some terrible t.v

But then I wouldn’t have seen half the good stuff I got to see, or burnt half as much energy as I need to.

Mind you I would have missed Wingy chucking some massive shapes around, he was shredding it like a true Yoda.

Somewhere on Instagram there is footage of this crutch grind. When I can find it I will link it. Scotty did this so quickly I had no time to set up, hence the over powering flash. Blink and you miss it.

So good skating that ramp, it’s another level and if you skate you should get down, even just to watch the goon show. Enjoy the photos, all shot in the space of a 40 odd minutes with hardly any preparation. Basically I’m trying to say the tricks were not for the camera, they are what is going down in Manchester twice a week regardless. Lucky I didn’t stay in and just have a cup of tea, that would have been boring.
