They say the apple never falls far from the tree, well I say the skaters in Stockport never fall far from the blocks. Having skated Stocky for well over 15 years I’ve come to the conclusion that there’s something good about skateboarding in Stockport.
First came Bones skatepark and that world class sorely missed indoor figure 8 bowl. Personally I loved that bowl and I’m sure a few of you reading this did too and now it’s sadly gone. Dave used to make it look easy to skate, it wasn’t.
Then theres’s the number of talented skaters that Stocky has produced and continues to encourage. I guess what I’m trying to do here is just get a perspective from the local skaters. Nothing sinister just straight up community building skateboarding unity.
What do you like about skateboarding in Stockport?
The randomness of it all and the crew sessions when the sun comes out.
What do you you dislike about skating Stockport
The spice heads and the dramatic teenage angst
And lastly what’s next for skateboarding in the stockers
More of the same unpredictable predictability of Stockport and a new park in edgeley at some point.
And if you have time then any skate story from the port
I will get back to you on that one haha
Thanks D, get well soon.
I guess there could be more interviews on here? What do you reckon? Tweet on..
